Hello everybody, welcome to my channel. Today, I'm going to show you how to add sales tax to invoices in Sheets. So, let's get started. I already have a void invoice that I will use as an example, but it does not include any tax. I will show you how to quickly add it from scratch. First, let's review the invoice. You can see here that we have the invoice number, today's date, and the customer's ID. This information is for billing purposes. Now, let's move on to adding the tax. In my area, we don't use tax on invoices, but if you do, you can use this formula. Start by typing an equal sign, then point to the subtotal cell. After that, use the asterisk symbol (*) followed by your tax percentage. For example, someone asked me about 7.25% tax, so I will enter that. Press enter and the formula will calculate the tax for you. If you look up here, you can see the cell address where I applied the formula. Replace the 7.25% with your own tax percentage. The total will automatically update to include the sales tax. In this example, the grand total is $836. Plus, the sales tax of $837, resulting in a final total of $8836.
